- "Paid Services" means plans and add-on features available for a fee. The Service does not currently offer any Paid Services.
- "AI Features" means features that use generative artificial intelligence to produce outputs.
- "Access Token" means a credential issued by a Member that allows the Member's AI tools to access the Service via MCP or similar means.
Article 3 (Posting and Amendment of the Terms)
- The Company posts these Terms on a page linked from the bottom of the Service's main screen.
- The Company may amend these Terms to the extent permitted by applicable law.
- When amending these Terms, the Company will announce the effective date and the reasons for the amendment on the Service at least 7 days before the effective date. Changes unfavorable to Members will be announced at least 30 days before the effective date and will also be notified individually by email.
- A Member who does not agree to the amended Terms may terminate the service agreement before the effective date. If the Company, when giving notice under Paragraph 3, clearly stated that a Member who does not express objection by the effective date will be deemed to have agreed, and the Member does not express objection, the Member will be deemed to have agreed to the amended Terms.
- Prior versions of these Terms are available under "Previous versions" at the bottom of this page.
Article 4 (Formation of the Service Agreement)
- The service agreement is formed when an applicant reviews these Terms and the Privacy Policy, applies for registration by signing in with a Google account, and the Company accepts the application.
- The Company may decline an application, or terminate the agreement afterward, if the applicant has used another person's information or was previously terminated for violating these Terms.
- A Member who registers on behalf of a business represents and warrants that the Member is authorized to agree to these Terms on behalf of that business.
Article 5 (Minors)
- Only persons aged 14 or older may register. If a Member is found to be under 14, the Company will delete the account.
- A minor (under 19) must obtain the consent of a legal representative to use Paid Services. If a minor enters into a Paid Services contract without such consent, the minor or the legal representative may cancel the contract (Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, Article 13(3); Civil Act, Article 5). However, cancellation is not available in cases provided by law, such as a contract made within the scope of property the legal representative has permitted the minor to dispose of (e.g., an allowance).
- When the Company introduces Paid Services, it will inform users of this right of cancellation on the payment screen.
Article 6 (Management of Accounts and Access Tokens)
- Members must safeguard their accounts and Access Tokens against use by others.
- If an Access Token has been, or is suspected to have been, compromised, the Member must revoke it immediately and notify the Company.
- For security purposes, the Company may revoke an Access Token suspected of compromise or misuse without prior notice, and will notify the Member without delay after revocation.
- Any action taken by an external tool (such as an AI client) connected through an Access Token is deemed an action of the Member who issued that token.
Article 7 (Provision and Modification of the Service)
- The Company endeavors to provide the Service 24 hours a day, year-round, but does not guarantee uninterrupted availability.
- Scheduled maintenance will be announced 7 days in advance. Emergency incident response or security measures may be announced after the fact.
- If the Company changes or removes a material feature of the Service in a way that is unfavorable to paying Members, it will give 30 days' notice and will refund the fees for the remaining period to any Member who terminates for that reason.
- If the Company discontinues the Service, it will give 90 days' notice and enable Members to download their Member Materials.
Article 8 (Paid Services and Payment)
- The Service is currently provided free of charge and there are no Paid Services. This Article applies when Paid Services are introduced.
- The details and fees of Paid Services will be posted on the Service's pricing page.
- Domestic payments: The Company is the seller. Payments are processed by a payment service provider engaged by the Company, and the Company issues tax invoices and receipts.
- International payments: If international payments are introduced, they will be processed by our online reseller Paddle.com, which will act as the Merchant of Record for all international orders. Paddle's buyer terms also apply to international payments, and Paddle handles receipts and tax matters. Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders.
- Subscriptions renew automatically for the same billing period (monthly or annual) until the Member cancels, and are charged to the registered payment method on the renewal date. The payment screen will display the amount, billing period, next billing date, and how to cancel.
- When a free trial converts to a paid subscription or a recurring charge increases, the Company will, at least 30 days before the change, notify the Member of the effective date, amount, payment method, and how to cancel, and will obtain the Member's separate consent. Without consent, no automatic conversion or increase will occur. Members currently using the Service for free will not be converted to a paid plan without their consent.
- Members may cancel from the billing settings in the Service through a procedure as simple as the one used to sign up.
- Refunds are governed by the separate Refund Policy.
Article 9 (Member Materials)
- Rights to Member Materials belong to the Member (or, for Team Space materials, to that Team).
- The Company processes Member Materials solely to provide the Service (page image and text conversion, table of contents and summary generation, search, and practice questions), respond to incidents, maintain security, and comply with law.
- Personal Space materials are visible only to the Member who uploaded them. Materials uploaded to a Team Space are visible to the members of that Team.
- Members must have the lawful right to upload and use Member Materials and are responsible for any dispute with a third party arising from Member Materials, except where caused by the Company's intent or negligence.
- Members may download or delete their materials at any time. When a Member withdraws, the Company destroys the Member Materials after the period set out in the Privacy Policy.
- The scope and conditions under which the Company processes personal information on a Customer's behalf for Team Space materials are governed by the Privacy Policy.
Article 10 (Copyright and Infringement Notices)
- The Service is a tool for Members' personal study. Members must upload only books, PDFs, and documents they have the right to use privately (for example, a scan of a book the Member purchased, made for personal study; materials authorized by the copyright holder; or openly licensed materials).
- The Service must not be used to make copyrighted works (such as book scans or PDFs) available or distribute them to the public without authorization. Team Spaces are intended for joint study among team members and must not be used as a means of sharing copyrighted works beyond the scope authorized by the copyright holder.
- Anyone who believes that materials in the Service infringe their copyright or other rights may send the following to ben@hyperreality.gg: (1) the rights holder's name and contact information; (2) the infringed work; (3) information sufficient to identify the infringing material; and (4) evidence establishing that the sender is the rights holder.
- Upon receiving a notice under Copyright Act, Article 103, the Company will promptly disable access to the material concerned and notify the Member who uploaded it. The Member may request reinstatement by demonstrating a legitimate right.
- Members who repeatedly infringe the rights of others may have their use restricted in accordance with Article 13.
Article 11 (AI Features)
- Chapter summaries in the Service are outputs generated using generative artificial intelligence.
- AI summaries may be inaccurate or incomplete, for example by omitting or misrepresenting content from the source text. Members must review summaries against the source text before relying on them for study, exams, or work, and the Company does not guarantee the accuracy of summaries.
- Rights in outputs vest in the Member to the extent the Company holds them. Rights in the underlying source works remain with their original rights holders.
- Members must not use AI Features in a manner that infringes the rights of others or violates applicable law or the usage policies of AI providers.
- Where a Member connects their own AI tools using an Access Token, the terms and fees of the relevant tool provider also apply.
Article 12 (Integration with External Services)
- When a Member connects an external service (such as an AI client) using an Access Token, Member Materials are transmitted to that service to the extent directed by the Member. Processing after transmission is governed by that external service's terms.
- Integration features may be limited due to outages or policy changes at external services.
Article 13 (Prohibited Conduct)
Members must not engage in any of the following:
- Violating applicable law or infringing the rights of others (including intellectual property rights, personal information, and reputation)

- Spam, phishing, fraud, or uploading files containing malware
- Circumventing or testing the security of the Service, or attempting to access the materials of other Members or Teams
- Collecting data from the Service in bulk by automated means (scraping) without the Company's permission, or burdening the Service with excessive requests or large-volume uploads
- Copying or reselling the Service, or reverse engineering it to build a competing service
- Using AI Features to create content that deceives or harms others
Article 14 (Restrictions on Use)
- If a Member violates Article 13, the Company may take measures in the following order: warning, feature restriction, temporary suspension, and termination of the agreement.
- Where there is a risk of immediate harm to other Members or the Service, the Company will suspend first and notify afterward.
- Members may object to any measure, and the Company will lift the measure without delay if the objection is justified.
Article 15 (Intellectual Property)

- The Company grants Members a non-exclusive right to use the Service in accordance with these Terms.
- The Company may freely use any feedback or suggestions Members send to the Company to improve the Service.
Article 16 (Termination)
- Members may withdraw at any time. Until a withdrawal feature is available in the Service, withdrawal will be processed upon request to ben@hyperreality.gg. The last owner of a Team may withdraw after transferring or deleting the Team.
- If a Member withdraws while using Paid Services, the withdrawal will be handled in accordance with the Refund Policy.
Article 17 (Limitation of Liability)
- The Company is not liable for damages caused by force majeure, causes attributable to the Member, or outages of external services beyond the Company's control. However, where the Company's intent or negligence is also involved, the Company is liable to that extent.
- Except in cases of the Company's intent or gross negligence, the Company's liability for damages to a Member in connection with these Terms is limited to the total fees paid by the Member to the Company during the 12 months immediately preceding the occurrence of the damage.
- A Member who causes damage to the Company by violating these Terms must compensate the Company for such damage.
